My name is Diane. Michael is my husband, travel partner, driver, heavy-bag-carrier and voice of reason. We met in 2004, married a few years later and have traveled together since. Our adventures have taken us to 6 continents, 13 countries,  11 states here in the U.S. and countless cities along the way, but traveling is not our full-time job. Nope! We both have your typical 9 to 5 career(Psst! We even like them!) I work with little humans (kids) and Mike works with big machines (airplanes). Our careers are opposites, but our desire to travel is the same! So, even though we fill our days with clients, customers, emails and meetings, pieces of our hearts have been left around the world at each of our destinations.

Our blog’s mission, goal and purpose is to help you incorporate travel into your life, even with a full-time career and family. We want to help you travel more with travel tips, planning help and destination inspiration. And, since we do not travel full-time either, we want to show you how to add bits and pieces of travel into your everyday life with home decor ideas and recipes so you can savor those travel memories and dreams!

Whether you’ve traveled the globe or barely out of your zip code, read on and check out the site. I hope there is something here for every type of traveler! Come join us as we (OK, mostly Diane) share photos, tips, and ideas. I encourage you to comment, ask questions and respond to questions – that is what makes this blog community so fun! You can also follow along on social media or email me at wifewithbaggage[@]gmail[.]com.

Much Love and Many Thanks,

Hey, what a lovely blog you guys have. After reading your Belize post I decided to put that on top of my list of places I want to go 🙂 *continiously growing! Is your husband a pilot? Greetings from the other side of the world!

Thank you!! Belize is beautiful and relatively easy for us to get to … so hurry before it gets too busy and touristy! haha! 🙂 No, my husband isn’t a pilot, but oh! How he wishes he was! 🙂 Nice to “meet” you Suze!

  2. Young Broke Traveler

This is inspirational! I’m still in school, worrying about getting a job after graduation, when all I want to do is travel! It’s awesome to read about ways I can do both! Keep the posts coming 🙂

Been there too! Our motto is “work to live, not live to work.” Choose your degree and career path wisely and travel + a career (and family and friends and a social life) is definitely possible; we’re living proof. Very happy to have you following along!
