The word “staycation” is a clever one. It is not a new concept, per se, but it is a relatively new word in the travel industry. My definition of a staycation is this: a vacation that combines fun with relaxation, but does not require pricey air travel. Michael and I call Florida home. Born and raised on the west coast of Florida, I am a Floridian through and through. Michael, however, escaped the cold of the northeast and attended college in Tampa, Florida. He never left. But, can you blame him? He met a smokin’ hot blonde in college! But, I digress.

Can travel exist this close to your home? Are you really traveling if you are still in the same state, or even city? Heck yea you are! Adventure is everywhere. We can create life long memories on a daily basis, whether far from home or around the corner.
